WHAT IS "MEDICA" ZENICA?

Udruženje “Medica” Zenica je specijalizirana ženska organizacija koja već skoro tri decenije djeluje na području cijele Bosne i Hercegovine i nastoji odgovoriti na potrebe najranjivijih kategorija u društvu. To su žene i djeca preživjeli ratno silovanje i seksualno nasilje, mirnodopsko nasilje i ostale oblike nasilja u porodici i zajednici, kao i preživjele trgovinu ljudima. “Medica” Zenica u svom dugogodišnjem radu je razvila pristup koje je sveobuhvatan, multidisciplinaran i interdisciplinaran shodno individualnim potrebama i participaciji preživjelih, njegujući feminističke principe i međunarodne standarde.

Our mission is to contribute to the reduction and eradication of violence and discrimination against women and children through direct work, prevention programs and advocacy activities, and to ensure their equality in the family and society.

SAFE HOUSE

"Medica" Zenica provides adequate accommodation to women, girls and children victims of trauma and violence during the process of their recovery. Staying in a safe house, among other things, includes appropriate professional help, through individual and group therapeutic work, counseling, family therapy, occupational therapy, medical care, legal aid, and economic empowerment through attending existing six-month occupational trainings. The total number of persons accommodated in the safe house "Medica" Zenica in the period from April 1993 to the end of December 2020 is 2,318.
