On the 31th of August 2015, Bled Strategic Forum started and many State Representatives, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Representatives of NGOs and others took place in the Forum. Motto of this-year Bled Strategic forum is „The visions of new partnership“ and sponsor as well
as organizer of this ceremony is Ministry of foreign affairs of Republic of Slovenia.
The panel “Ending Sexual Violence in Conflict: One Year After the Summit” was held within the Summit and participants of the pannel were Ms Sabiha Husić, Director of the Association Medica Zenica, Dr Chris Dolan, Director of the Refugee Law Project, Mr Bojan Glavašević,
Assistant Minister for Veterans’ Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Mr Stavros Lambrinidis, the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Ambassador Maria Henriette Schuurman, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security. Ms Sabiha Husić, Director of the Association Medica Zenica, an NGO which helps victims in Bosnia-Herzegovina, described the experience in her country, where she said the main initial challenge was for women to speak out.
With a system now in place to help victims, the next task is to get the authorities to take these
challenges seriously. There has been some headway at lower levels of government, but at the
national level “I cannot say our government is taking these challenges very seriously.
